Drone LiDAR in Ontario
UAV LiDAR acquisition across Ontario for corridors, large areas and vegetated terrain — where imagery alone cannot describe the ground.
When LiDAR is the right acquisition method
- The ground surface matters and vegetation or canopy obscures it in imagery.
- The asset is linear — rail, transmission, pipeline or ROW — and continuity along the corridor is the point.
- Structure and geometry need to be measured in 3D, not interpreted from photographs.
- Terrain, grade, drainage or clearance questions drive the decision being made.
Where imagery, photogrammetry or thermal answers the question more efficiently, Elev8 will say so. Sensor selection follows the information requirement, not the other way round.
Typical outputs
- Point cloud
- Classified or unclassified, delivered in agreed formats
- Ground surface
- Bare-earth terrain model derived from classified returns
- Contours / profiles
- Where the project workflow requires them
- Corridor products
- Along-corridor extraction for linear assets
Accuracy, point density and classification are set per project against the sensor, flight plan and control used. Elev8 does not publish generic accuracy figures.

Professional scope
Elev8 Visions provides RPAS acquisition, LiDAR capture and agreed processing. Elev8 is not an Ontario Land Surveyor and does not perform legal or cadastral survey work; regulated surveying and professional certification remain with the licensed professionals of record.
