Mission requirement
What did the project team need to understand?
This dataset exists to prove LiDAR acquisition capability with real data rather than description. It was captured as a technical demonstration and is not presented as a client project.
- 01Capture a real LiDAR dataset that can be inspected
- 02Record image data alongside the LiDAR acquisition
- 03Provide evidence of LiDAR capability without describing an unrelated client project
Operating environment
The site determines the acquisition strategy.

Only conditions Elev8 can confirm are described here.

Mission design
Capture was designed around the required output.
LiDAR
USEDThe purpose of the acquisition was to record real LiDAR returns.
Imagery
USEDImage data was captured alongside the LiDAR acquisition.
Point cloud
USEDThe acquisition was processed into an inspectable point cloud.
Thermal
NOT USEDNot part of this acquisition.
RTK / GNSS
NOT USEDNot confirmed for publication. It is not claimed until verified.
A LiDAR sensor was flown to produce a real, inspectable dataset.

POINT CLOUD
LiDAR returns including vegetation and structure.
Project outputs
One acquisition. Multiple usable datasets.
POINT CLOUD
LiDAR returns across the acquisition area.
IMAGERY

Application
What was used, and what a dataset like this could support.
Project use — actual
- The dataset is used to demonstrate that Elev8 has acquired and processed real LiDAR data.
Dataset potential — not client use
- Terrain and drainage assessment by qualified professionals
- Corridor and right-of-way vegetation context
- Volume and section work performed by the appropriate technical team
- Baseline for a future comparison capture
Potential applications only. Not performed on this project.
Professional responsibility
Data acquisition and professional interpretation are separate responsibilities.
Elev8 Visions performed the aerial acquisition and the agreed processing. Engineering, professional surveying, certification and regulated technical conclusions remain with the appropriate qualified professionals.
Operational lessons
What this project taught us.
Lesson 01
A demonstration should be labelled as one
Presenting capability work as a client engagement is the fastest way to lose technical credibility. It is proof either way.
Lesson 02
Classification is where the value appears
A raw cloud impresses. A classified ground separation is what a professional team can actually work from.
Result
What existed after the field team left.
Elev8 holds a real LiDAR dataset — point cloud and accompanying imagery — that can be inspected rather than described.
